How to Track and Redirect 404 Error Page in WordPress site
What happens if your URL does not exist on your site and visitors try to access that URL? In this tutorial, I'll show you how to track and redirect 404 error page in WordPress site.
When you delete the publishing post and the user requests for that page, there are 404 errors. Apart from this, when you move the publishing post to another URL without redirection, you have to deal with this problem. 404 pages greatly affect user experience.
The best thing about WordPress, You can easily fix 404 errors with the help of the plugin. Redirection is a WordPress plugin that manages 301 redirections, tracks 404 error page, and helps to keep your site's user experience better.
404 error pages are also called broken links.
To fix "404 error not found" on your WordPress site, first install and activate the Redirection WordPress plugin.
After activating the redirection plugin, click on Tools >> Redirection to setup redirects (404 URL not found error).
Under the Redirect tab, add the old URL that is showing 404 error not found then add new URL Where you want to redirect the user.
After adding your information check Regex? checkbox and click on "Add Redirect" button. Now go to your website to test it.
Now when a visitor clicks on broken URL "404 page not found" it will automatically redirect to the new URL.
Another good thing about redirection plugin, you can also track 404 error page. Just click on the 404s at the top. The plugin will start to show "error 404 not found" on your site. Now you can redirect the 404 error page to another URL.
This plugin allows you to set up redirects for your modified posts. If you modify or edit your post's URL, then it automatically handles the redirect.
