What is Virtual Aadhaar ID: Aadhaar new 16-digit Virtual Identity
Aadhaar Card is not only an identity card, it is one of the most important Document today for all Indians. A few days ago, news channels and newspapers showed that "information about Aadhaar card is being misused", hence the government has taken a step and considering the questions regarding the safety of Aadhar card, some major changes are being made now. Indian Identity Card Authority UIDAI has decided to implement the Virtual Aadhaar ID.
It is mandatory to add Aadhaar card to all the documents as per the government order. In such a case, if the hacker gets your Aadhar number, then he can get all the information of that person in which documents have been added from Aadhaar card. So, UIDAI is advised to create virtual Aadhar card to hide the Aadhaar numbers and you will be able to use this Virtual Aadhar ID instead of Aadhar number.
The Aadhaar card Virtual Id is a 16-digit Temporary ID that will be made from the Aadhaar ID. A virtual ID can only create Aadhaar card holder and can change anytime. Due to being the Virtual Aadhar ID, any company will not be able to collect all the information about any person.
The use of Virtual Aadhar Id will be accepted everywhere from 1 March 2018 and will apply to all agencies from 1 June 2018.
Now you can use your virtual Aadhaar card instead of your Aadhaar card. For example, to get a SIM card, to link the mobile number or to verify the bank account. Through it, Aadhar number will be detected by fingerprint that which Aadhaar card is related to this virtual ID and your Aadhar card will also remain secret.
UIDAI will release its software until 1 March 2018 and you can able to generate your Virtual Aadhaar ID from the official website of the Aadhaar card and the app.
