When you install or update Yoast SEO 7.0 on your WordPress blog or website, you will find a lot of changes in it.
In Yoast SEO 7.0 many menu items have been changed, moved or deleted. Yoast team wants to make its interface easy and simple so that any beginner can configure and use it easily.
In the menu item of Yoast 7.0 version, Titles and Metas have been changed to Search Appearance so that it is easy to understand.
A lot of visual changes have been done in the new Yoast SEO 7.0. you can see below,
If you want to index your post and page in search engines, you have to navigate to Search Appearance >> Content Types and Yes to "Show Posts in search results" and if you want to provide a custom meta description for your article then choose Show from "Yoast SEO Meta Box". As you can see in the screenshot below,
Apply the same process to index the page in the search engines.
To index categories and tags in the search engine, navigate to the taxonomies tab and follow the screenshot below.
But my recommendation is that you do not index categories and tags in search engines because it creates a duplicate content in the search engine and Google does not like the website with any duplicate content. Even Google does penalize such websites.
You can exclude any individual posts from XML sitemaps.
First, navigate to the content that you want to exclude, then click on edit, scroll down to the Yoast SEO section. After that click on the Gear icon and select No from "Allow search engines to show this Post in search results?" You can see in the screenshot below.
Yoast has been removed from XML sitemaps menu item in Yoast SEO 7.0 update, so many beginners may have trouble to find Yoast XML sitemaps.
You can get your XML sitemap by clicking General >> Features >> XML Sitemaps >> ?.
You will see a Media menu item in Search Appearance. When you upload media to WordPress, it adds to the library and creates an attachment URL. These are mostly empty pages but sometimes they are picked up by search engines.
The new setting of Yoast SEO 7.0 redirects all attachment URLs to the original image or media item. This setting is enabled by default in new installations.

Indexing in Yoast SEO 7.0
