How to Add Background Image in WordPress Site

How to Add Background Image in WordPress





Here I will cover two methods and for this you do not need any kind of coding knowledge.





  1. Using WordPress Theme Customizer
  2. Using WordPress Plugin




So, let's get started...





1. Add a Background Image Using Your WordPress Theme Customizer





There are many WordPress themes that support custom background image and with them you can easily set a background image to your WordPress site. But if your theme does not allow to add a custom background image, you can go with the second method.





First login to your WordPress site and click on Appearance >> Customize. Here you will see a Background Image option. Just click on it.

Then click on the Select Image button to add a background image to your site.

After uploading image, you can select Preset, Image Position and Image Size.

Now, click on Publish button and that’s it. You have successfully added a background image to your WordPress site.





2. Add Custom Background Image in WordPress Using Plugin





If your theme does not support custom background image, you can use a plugin. Here is a plugin and method that you can use.





First, you need to install and activate Simple Full-Screen Background Image plugin on your site. With this plugin, you can easily upload and set a full-screen image as a background of your website.





Once activated, go to Appearance >> Fullscreen BG Image and upload your custom background image. Use 1600 × 1200px background images on your site so that it automatically scale with the browser.

Now click on Save Options and visit your site to check new background.





Note: If you choose a high-resolution image for your website background then it looks glossy and great on any devices. Also, you can use different browsers and devices to check your background image looking good on all screen sizes.
